📋 Scenario On a pump shaft, a bearing, a shim and a spacer stack inside a stepped bore. The leftover gap takes a snap ring rated to work between 2.6 mm and 3.4 mm. Give the worst-case range for a 100% guarantee — then the RSS minimum, which is what you would plan production around when parts are made to a normal distribution.
Cavity L = 60.00 ±0.10A 20.00±0.05B 15.00±0.03C 22.00±0.04GAPclip 2.6–3.4

📐 Given dimensions

60.00 ±0.10 mm
20.00 ±0.05 mm
15.00 ±0.03 mm
22.00 ±0.04 mm
2.6 – 3.4 mm
ℹ️ NoteWorst-case sums tolerances directly (guaranteed limit). RSS combines them as a root-sum-of-squares (statistical, for normal production).
